Gunther is now on the way for the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of modern times in WWE. As of now, the earlier record for the longest title reign was held by Honky Tonk Man which was for 453 days.
So if Gunther crosses 7th September 2023 as an Intercontinental Champion then his name will be written in history as the longest-reigning IC champion of all time. But we have to wait to witness this historic moment of Gunther.
John Cena’s return to SmackDown last week also made the fans hoping for a dream match between Cena and Gunther. Well, this week on Raw Gunther has to defend his IC Championship against Chad Gable.
With the Imperium members interfering in matches of Gunther, we might see John Cena help Gable to win the IC championship which will begin the feud between Cena and Gunther.
Earlier before Wrestlemania, Gunther had shown his interest in having a match with John Cena. Gunther who has appeared in a show on Steve Fall’s Ten Count stated that John Cena is a great legend who is not really active in WWE and just pops up sometimes between the fans.
Gunther would be very glad to face the baby face in this sports entertainment which would be a great counterpart for him.
